National medical insurer WPA and local healthcare partner Sally Harvey have announced that WPA has been named the Which? Recommended Provider for Private Medical Insurance (PMI) for the second consecutive year.

The prestigious recognition by the UK’s leading consumer champion highlights WPA’s commitment to delivering market-leading service excellence and customer satisfaction.

Which? only endorses the best products and services, with its Recommended Provider status reserved for companies that receive high ratings from customers who have medical insurance and have made a claim within the last two years.

WPA’s continued recognition in this category, despite competition from Aviva, AXA, BUPA, SAGA and Vitality, underscores its pedigree, credentials and dedication to putting customers at the heart of everything it does.

In the latest Which? review, WPA is recognised for leading the industry with an 82 per cent claims score, significantly surpassing the industry average of 72 per cent. The company also achieved an industry-leading customer satisfaction Score of 74 per cent, compared to the competition’s average of 64 per cent.

WPA excelled in all aspects of the claims score review, leading in the speed of settling claims, access to services, and the range of hospitals available.

The company also tied for first place in all of the other categories, including clarity of process, ease of making a claim, informing customers of claim costs, waiting time from initial referral to treatment, choice of available consultants, and keeping customers updated about claims.

ACCOLADE: WPA head office

In the customer evaluation, WPA once again led all scored sections, with standout performance in the clarity of terms and conditions.

The company secured first-equal rankings in ease of contact, clarity of written communication, how well cover fits customer needs, range of available hospitals, choice of medical professionals, and value for money.

The Which? article praised WPA, stating: “Customers in our survey were highly positive about various areas of their experience of claiming, from the speed of claims to the choice of consultants available. [WPA] was the highest scorer for clarity of terms and conditions.”

Sally, WPA’s regional healthcare partner in the Hull area, said: “We are committed to delivering an experience that treats our customers as we would wish to be treated ourselves. It’s what we do, and this recognition from Which? affirms that we’re doing it really well.

“This accolade complements other independent credentials, such as Trustpilot, where WPA consistently leads our industry with an excellent score of 4.6/5. It’s a testament to the professionalism, hard work, and empathy of each and every member of the team.

“I know that recognition like this isn’t easily won, which is why I’ll be rolling my sleeves up to make the next 12 months even better for all of our customers.”

Which? emphasised the significance by stating: “Recommended Providers are companies which go the extra mile when it comes to satisfying their customers. To be the only health insurer recognised twice, and for the second year in a row, is quite an accolade, underlining how the culture of exceeding customer expectations runs through WPA’s veins.”
