The Hull Story is an independent publishing venture run by experienced journalists from Hull.

We pride ourselves on producing ethical, public interest journalism and alongside our website publish a FREE monthly newspaper at 10,000 copies per edition, which is packed with local news, features and comment. The latest edition of The Hull Story newspaper is available from the first week of every month at venues across the city including:

Rick Lyon,

Co-Editor

Rick is a multi award-winning journalist with more than 20 years of experience in the industry.

His previous positions include news editor, chief reporter and crime reporter at Hull Live / Hull Daily Mail.

Also a former director of marketing at Bishop Burton College, Rick combines his position at The Hull Story with that of owner and Managing Director of Lyon PR.

Simon Bristow, Co-Editor

Simon is an experienced news reporter and court and colour specialist.

He has previously worked for the Yorkshire Post and PA (Sport), and as court reporter at Hull Live / Hull Daily Mail, where he was also Father of Chapel for the NUJ.
