Business park proves perfect base as warehousing and distribution centre

‘HARD TO BEAT’: The unit at Dianthus Business Park which is now home to Humber Storage Solutions

One of East Yorkshire’s biggest business sites has proved to be the perfect base for a Hull company which imports products through the Humber docks to be distributed to customers in West Yorkshire.

Humber Storage Solutions are now permanent tenants of Units 7 and 8 at Dianthus Business Park, in Newport.

It will see the business benefit from having 136,000 sq ft of industrial space, situated a short distance from Hull, Immingham and Goole docks, and with immediate access to the A63 and onto the A1 and M62 across the country.

The deal to secure the property was handled by Hull-based commercial property specialists Garness Jones.

Senior surveyor Chris Hyam says Dianthus Business Park offers a location which is “hard to beat” for those involved in importing and distributing.

“This is a fantastic location for Humber Storage Solutions and will really aid their business activities as they store and distribute products imported through the Humber docks, which are then transported down the motorway to a facility for a major international client in West Yorkshire,” he said.

“In terms of businesses operating in this kind of market, Dianthus Business Park is hard to beat for location, whilst also offering first-class facilities.”

Dianthus Business Park has been through significant development and expansion since it was first built as a home for JZ Flowers in 2010, with warehouses industrial units of varying sizes since added.

Over the years the site has attracted prominent business names including current tenants Royal Lemkes, which delivers more than 100 million plants to thousands of retailers in 36 countries, and Hull-based William Jackson Food Group, which makes bread for the sandwich market in the UK and abroad.

There are now future plans for further development.

“The client at Dianthus Business Park deserves praise for his vision and continued investment in this site,” said Mr Hyam.

“These are the kind of developments which help attract more high-quality businesses to invest in our region, and equally, ensure we can retain successful businesses as they grow and need bigger, modern facilities, as we have seen here with Humber Storage Solutions.”
