Hull Fair

Walton Street

October 4-12

One of Europe’s largest travelling fairs will return to Hull this October.

Opening Friday, October 4, and taking over 16 acres of Walton Street car park, Hull Fair boasts attractions from across the country, from roller-coasters and white knuckle rides to attractions for children, including trampolines, fun houses, helter-skelters, mini waltzer and many new and exciting rides.

For those who like to keep their feet firmly on the ground there are many traditional stalls, offering games such as bingo, hook-a-duck and darts, along with food stalls offering everything from fish and chips to waffles and hot dogs.

The fair will be officially opened at 4pm on Friday, October 4 by the Lord Mayor.

The fair will run until Saturday, October 12 (closed Sunday, October 6) and opens from 2pm-11pm daily (from 12noon on Saturday).

Hull Comedy Festival is back with more fun, more giggles and more laughter, as it celebrates its 18th year!

There’ll be a variety of acts and performances including stand-up, variety, touring shows, works in progress, award-winning performers, family-friendly shows, and local and regional comedy talent with a sprinkle of the hottest shows from the UK comedy scene.

The 2024 festival will officially launch with one of the Comedy Festivals biggest ever shows at Connexin Live, on Friday, 1 November 1, with comedy superstar Chris Ramsey, who will be joined by Chloe Petts, Flo & Joan, Ahir Shah and Hull’s own Jack McLean – a night not to be missed!

This year’s festival also features shows at Hull Truck, Comedy Lounge and the Edge Hub with something for everyone!

Hull Black History Month is an annual celebration that highlights the contributions of Black individuals and communities in Hull and beyond. The events in October includes talks, workshops, performances, and exhibitions exploring Black history and culture. It aims to raise awareness and foster inclusivity.

The month is marked by collaboration between local organisations, schools, and community groups. Events will feature artists, historians, and activists showcasing their voices and stories. Hull Black History Month emphasises the importance of acknowledging historical figures and events that have shaped peoples’ life experiences in the UK.
