Hull-based construction and maintenance company KWL has launched a new house building division – KWL Homes.
The venture marks a significant milestone for the company, and comes as a response to the UK’s pressing need for quality housing.
Its first development, Matheson Close, in east Hull, showcases KWL Homes’ commitment to creating vibrant communities.
Addressing the varied housing demands in the region, Matheson Close is made up of 27 thoughtfully designed two, three and four-bedroom properties.
The development caters to a diverse range of homebuyers, from first-time buyers to growing families and downsizers.
Roger Grannon, interim CEO of KWL, said: “KWL Homes represents our vision for the future of residential construction in Hull.
“We’re not just building houses, we’re crafting homes that embody the dreams and aspirations of local residents while meeting crucial housing needs.”
The Matheson Close development, nestled near Sutton Golf Club, aims to be a standout addition to east Hull’s landscape.
Andrew Sangwin, managing director of Sangwin Architects, said: “We’ve developed a signature style for KWL Homes that blends contemporary design with practical living, addressing the evolving needs of modern homeowners.
“The properties feature modern materials and distinctive features, creating a unique and appealing streetscape.”
KWL’s expansion into house building reinforces its role as a major local employer whilst showcasing its commitment to quality craftsmanship.
With a current workforce of 500, the firm continues to support Hull’s economic growth, contributing to the Government’s goals of boosting housing supply and creating jobs.
Roger said: “This venture provides employment for local tradespeople, and KWL Homes has the potential to open doors for the next generation through our apprenticeship scheme.”
William H Brown, on Holderness Road, has been appointed as the estate agent for the landmark development.
