By Rick Lyon

Humberside Police are appealing for help to find a man who sexually assaulted a woman in a street attack in east Hull.

The victim was walking along New Bridge Road at 7.30pm on Friday, January 20 when she was grabbed by the man and dragged into Rustenburg Street, where he sexually assaulted her.

The woman fought off her attacker and was able to raise the alarm.

Detective Constable Witty, leading the investigation, said: “This was a very distressing and frightening incident for the victim and she has understandably been left shaken and scared.

“We are treating this incident as a priority and remain dedicated to tackling violence and abuse against women and girls in our area. We want everyone to be able to walk safely on our streets without the fear of being approached.

“A number of lines of enquiry have been conducted so far and we are now keen to locate a man described as around 5ft 10in tall, with an English accent. He had dark eyes and a scar to the right side of his nose. He was wearing a black tracksuit, black trainers, a hat and gloves.

“If you know who this is, or have any information that would help with our investigations, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 518 of January 20.”
