Police have named a motorcyclist who died in a collision with a car yesterday as Stephen Chapman, 59.

The incident, involving a dark silver Vauxhall Astra, happened on Staithes Road, Preston, just before 7.15am.

Mr Chapman, who was riding a blue Yamaha motorcycle, leaves behind a loving wife and family, Humberside Police said.

A man aged 33 who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to them to get in touch.

“If you saw either the collision itself, the vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone nearby behaving in a suspicious manner after the collision, please call our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 48 of 2nd March,” a spokesman said.
