By Simon Bristow Co-Editor

Nineties pop stars Wet Wet Wet will play at Connexin Live next year supported by M People’s Heather Small.

The two acts visit the city on Saturday, February 1, 2025, with tickets on sale from 10am on Friday, March 22.

Featuring founding member Graeme Clark, accompanied by long-standing guitarist Graeme Duffin, and fronted by Kevin Simm, the band will perform two runs of dates in 2025 – in January to February, as well as later in the year in October.

The ‘Wets’ will bring to the stage their catalogue of hits including the likes of Sweet Little Mystery, Angel Eyes, Goodnight Girl, With a Little Help from My Friends, Sweet Surrender, and Julia Says.

They will also perform Love Is All Around, their cover of The Troggs’ 1960s song, which this May celebrates 30 years since it became a soundtrack to the summer of 1994.

Recorded for the Richard Curtis film Four Weddings and a Funeral, the song became a worldwide hit which spent an 15 consecutive weeks at No 1 on the UK Singles Chart, an all-time record for a British artist that still stands.

The band appeared on Top of the Pops 19 times in 1994 – their 56 appearances in total on the programme also being a record for a Scottish act.

Small was the voice of the M People hits Moving on Up and Search for the Hero.

Tickets will be available from www.connexinlivehull.com or by visiting new official ticketing partner AXS. VIP and hospitality upgrades are also available for all shows; email hull@eu.asmglobal.com for further details.
