Hull City have signed winger Jason Lokilo from Dutch Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old has agreed a two-year deal, with a club option of a further year, and becomes the Tigers’ second summer recruit.

Lokilo arrives in East Yorkshire following a productive loan spell in the Turkish Süper Lig with İstanbulspor, where he netted four goals and provided three assists in 16 outings last term.

The Brussels-born wide man was on Belgian side Anderlecht’s and Crystal Palace’s books as a youngster and spent the 2020/21 season in League One with Doncaster Rovers.

He has also played in French Ligue 2 with Lorient and the Polish Ekstraklasa for Górnik Łęczna, as well as earning a cap for DR Congo at youth level.

City head coach Liam Rosenior said: “I’m really excited about Jason. He fits into our style of play as a winger who plays off his left foot, can play both sides, combine and go one-for-one.

“He’s quick, aggressive in the final third, likes to get shots off and crosses, and works hard for the team.

“He was outstanding for İstanbulspor and is someone with a point to prove in England. He’s got a lot of motivation, a lot of quality and is going to add to our group.”
