A series of events aimed at giving young entrepreneurs a chance to network and showcase their talents will be launched at Hull’s Humber Street Gallery.

THUD Yorkshire (The Hook Up Dinner) will have a new format and will invite young entrepreneurs from Hull, the East Riding and North Yorkshire to present their enterprising journeys and ambitions for the future.

The occasion, which will take place on Friday, March 22 from 6pm until 9pm, will also feature guest speakers, including the small business commissioner Liz Barclay and Ian Cass, chair of the Micro Business Alliance.

Attendees will get the chance to support the entrepreneurs at the event by voting for their favourite presentation and offering their mentoring and experience, or even providing financial support or sponsorship.

The event will be sponsored and supported by the Micro Business Alliance, Hull City Council, the John Cracknell Youth Enterprise Bank, Yorkshire in Business, the Office of the Small Business Commissioner and Far North.

Daniel Barker, a co-ordinator for THUD Yorkshire said: “On behalf of the Youth Enterprise and Microbusiness Team we are delighted to be re-launching THUD. It is only fair that entrepreneurial talent from Hull, East Riding and North Yorkshire is given a platform to showcase their journeys and promote themselves to a wide audience. We hope this re-launch will be the first of many similar events in the future across the area."

Ian Cass added: “We very much welcome the re-launch of THUD Yorkshire as another vehicle in Hull supports young entrepreneurs who run Microbusiness. and are delighted to sponsor it.

“Hull should be very proud of its youth enterprise eco-system and its track record of nurturing the entrepreneurial talent of young people."

  • Attendance at THUD Yorkshire is free of charge but guests are asked to register for their e-ticket here.
