Punk rockers The Offspring to donate proceeds of Hull show to NHS
One of punk’s biggest bands will play Hull’s Bonus Arena this autumn in support of frontline workers and the NHS.
The Offspring announced the extra UK show today, which will take place on November 19.
As well as allocating free tickets to local frontline workers, proceeds from the show will go to the registered NHS charity.
“If not for the hard work and successful rollout of the vaccine programs by the NHS there wouldn’t even be any live concerts to play,” frontman and guitarist Dexter Holland said.
“We’re so thrilled to be coming back, finally, to the UK and we’re looking forward to giving something back to those who have stepped up and given so much. Rock on!”
Holland, who has a PhD in molecular biology, and bandmate and guitarist Noodles, reworked and reworded their classic Come Out and Play so the chorus is “You've Got To Go Get Vaccinated”.
The Offspring’s tenth studio album Let The Bad Times Roll debuted at Number 3 in UK official album chart, their highest ever UK chart position.
Elsewhere it landed at Number 1 on Billboard’s Alternative album chart, at Number 2 on Billboard Top Rock Albums, and 27 on the Billboard Top 200.
The album, the band’s first in almost a decade, was released on April 16 via Concord Records.
The Offspring have sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, won many awards and have toured consistently, playing more than 500 shows in the last decade.
Tickets will be available for public sale from http://www.bonusarenahull.com from 10am on Friday.
Proceeds will go to the NHS Charities Together: https://nhscharitiestogether.co.uk/donate/
