‘Serial offender’ with 105 convictions targeted elderly woman

By Rick Lyon

A “serial offender” has been jailed for more than four years for burglary after targeting the home of an elderly woman.

Daniel Bridges, 39, of Dee Street, Hull, pleaded guilty to burglary when he appeared at Hull Crown Court.

The court heard Bridges entered the property of an elderly woman and stole items whilst she was downstairs.

DS Andrew Bradley, of Hull CID, said: “Bridges is a serial offender who had convictions for 105 previous offences. He was also found to be in breach of a 12-week suspended prison sentence in relation to a burglary in April.

“He targeted a vulnerable woman for his own personal gain. This is abhorrent and caused great distress for his victim.

“I hope this sentence gives him plenty of time to reflect on his actions and how they have impacted his victim and their family.”

Bridges was sentenced to four years and two months.
