Richard Mason: Police recover missing man’s body from River Hull

Police searching for missing man Richard Mason say they have recovered his body from the River Hull.

The 55-year-old former firefighter from Molescroft, near Beverley, had not been seen since he was reported missing on December 30.

Emergency service were called yesterday after a man’s body was seen in the river near Eske. Police recovered the body and after formal identification have confirmed it is that of Richard.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

Humberside Police said in a statement: “Specialist trained officers have updated Richard’s family and are providing support. Our thoughts are with them and Richard’s loved ones and friends at this incredibly sad time.

“A post-mortem examination will take place in the coming days, however at this time there is [sic] not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
