Police appeal after report of midnight rape in Pearson Park
Police are investigating a reported rape in Pearson Park in the early hours of Saturday.
The female victim was walking through the west Hull Park just after midnight on June 27 when she was attacked.
She is now being supported by specially trained officers as detectives appeal for information.
Police were seen taking photographs in the park on Sunday.
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Nicholson said: “Investigations into the report are underway; at this stage it is not being connected to any other reported incidents.
“This is a priority for us and we have already carried out various investigations, including reviewing CCTV from the area.
“The victim is receiving support from specially trained officers and we have increased high visibility police patrols in the local area to provide reassurance.
“If you believe you have witnessed any suspicious behaviour please do call to get in touch with us.
“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone that was in the park between 11pm on Friday (26 June) and 1am on Saturday (27 June) as we believe you may have information that could assist our investigations.”
Anyone who was in the park around that time, or anyone with information that could help, can call the non-emergency 101 line, quoting log 29 of Sunday, June 28.
