‘DEVASTATING LOSS’: Neil Wallace, who died in a collision with a motorcycle

A pedestrian who died in a collision with a motorcycle in Hull last week has been named as 43-year-old Neil Wallace.

The incident, in which the motorcyclist also died, happened on Beverley Road at 10.40pm on Thursday, July 8.

It is believed the Kawasaki motorcycle was towards the Dunswell Road roundabout when the collision happened near the junction for Evergreen Drive.

Despite the efforts of emergency services who attended both the motorcyclist and pedestrian died at the scene.

Mr Wallace’s family paid tribute to him today in a statement release by Humberside Police, saying: “Neil's family, friends and acquaintances are devastated at his tragic death.

“Erinn, Neil’s long-term fiancé, is devastated and heartbroken, and the family are thinking of her.

“We are overwhelmed with the love and support from everyone who knew him, including many others who did not know him personally; a fitting testament to his life.

“We will be announcing the arrangements for Neil's service once confirmed.”

Neil’s sister Michelle said, “I cannot explain the sadness I feel that you were taken away from us in such a cruel and unnecessary way.

“You will always be with me, my love will never fade.  I love you so, so very much, sleep tight my beautiful big brother.”

Investigations into the collision continue. Anyone with information can call the non-emergency number 101, quoting log 661 of 8 July.
