Councillor Collinson becomes the city’s 111th mayor after being elected at a Full Council meeting of Hull City Council on Thursday for the 2024/2025 mayoral year.

The installation ceremony took place in the council chamber, where the previous Lord Mayor, Councillor Kalvin Neal, handed over the historic chain of office.

The new Lord Mayor said: “I’m very proud to have been given the honour of representing the city of Kingston upon Hull, as it is the birthplace of human liberty.

“I hope to be able to do the job justice over the coming year.”

The Lady Mayoress is Councillor Christine Randall. The Deputy Lord Mayor for 2024/2025 is Councillor Cheryl Payne.
