Murder probe launched after man, 53, found dead in Bransholme

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Bransholme.

Police were called to a property in Roborough Close at about 12.10am on Sunday following reports of concern for safety, Humberside Police said.

Neville Morrison, 53, was found to have suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Neville’s family are currently being supported by specialist trained officers,” the force said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with his loved ones who have asked for privacy at this very sad time.”

Two men, aged 37 and 50, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in custody on Tuesday.

A cordon is in place at the scene while officers continue their enquires.

Detective Chief Inspector Doug Blackwood, who is leading the investigation, said: “We understand that a tragic incident of this nature will shock the local community.

“Those living in the area will see an increased number of officers over the coming days carrying out enquiries and providing reassurance to residents and the local community. Please come and speak to those officers if you have any concerns.
