Man aged 72 arrested after police car damaged

A man aged 72 man is in custody after an unmarked police car was reportedly damaged in Canada Drive, Cottingham.

Humberside Police’s Roads Policing Team were patrolling the area following reports from residents that several vehicles had been scratched.

At around 12:10am today, while officers were parked up monitoring the area, a man is believed to have approached the unmarked vehicle and caused damage.

He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and remains in police custody while inquiries continue, the force said.
