The family of a woman who died a week ago today after being stabbed have paid tribute to her.

Claudia Kambanza, 22, suffered stab wounds on Hinderwell Street, off Princes Avenue, west Hull, at around 3am on Friday, January 26.

She was taken to hospital to receive treatment but died from her injuries a short while later.

Mateus Johannes, 28, of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder and being in possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He appeared at Hull Crown Court on Tuesday, January 30, where he was remanded in custody to appear again next month.

In a statement released today by Humberside Police, Claudia’s family said: “Claudia was a kind and bubbly warm-hearted person, who wasn’t afraid of challenges and always wanted good for other people.

“She always loved to cook and host people. She had an accommodative spirit and was a people’s person.”
