City rapper Cameo Brooks to open for Bad Boy Chiller Crew at Connexin Live

‘I AM BLESSED’: Cameo Brooks

By Simon Bristow, Co-Editor

Emerging Hull rapper Cameo Brooks has been selected to open for chart-topping MCs Bad Boy Chiller Crew at Connexin Live.

Cameo, who has been releasing music for six years, will support the Bradford group when they visit the Myton Street arena on Friday, March 1.

The Hull venue has made a commitment to support emerging Hull artists where possible, and local band Fever recently opened for indie band Two Door Cinema Club.

Cameo started dropping music in 2017 and proceeded to perform at various shows such as Capital Xtra at KOKO London & Ministry of Sound Club, supporting the likes of RAYE, Lisa Maffia, Twin MCs, Lunar C, Fuse ODG and more.

His music has been streamed over 100,000 times across Spotify and Apple Music. Taking inspiration from his life experiences and his environment, Cameo brings the essence of Hip Hop, UK Rap & Lofi Drill alive with his storytelling vibes.

Sam Ryder, general manager at Connexin Live, said: “We are delighted that Cameo has accepted our offer to open for Bad Boy Chiller Crew at Connexin Live on 1 March.

“The team have long championed local artists and realise the importance of grassroots venues and artists.

“As many of our events are part of national or international tours it’s not always possible to host local artists as supports, but where we are able to influence that – as we did recently with Fever for Two Door Cinema Club – we want to ensure Hull’s music scene is given a platform to be celebrated.”

Cameo said: “I am blessed to be given the opportunity to perform in front of over 2,000 people and at one of the most prestigious venues in my hometown. Thanks to the team over at Connexin Live for making this happen.”

Bad Boy Chiller Crew have had multiple hit singles with millions of plays on streaming services and video views on YouTube. The group go out on tour this spring in celebration of their new album. Standing and seated tickets are available for the group’s gig in Hull.

Tickets are on sale now from www.connexinlivehull.com or by visiting Ticketmaster. VIP and hospitality upgrades are also available for all shows; email hull@eu.asmglobal.com for further details.
