Jailed: Drugs gang boss who owned lingerie store and health shop
By Rick Lyon
The boss of an organised drug dealing enterprise operating across Hull and East Yorkshire has been jailed for almost five years.
Oltion Ademi, 38, has been jailed for four years and ten months at Hull Crown after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and being concerned with the supply of Class B drugs.
Ademi, of Hall Road, Hull, used his involvement in the distribution of cocaine and cannabis to buy high value items, including a Mercedes ML350 and a Rolex watch.
Following a lengthy investigation, Humberside Police executed 16 warrants at premises in the areas of Princes Avenue, Priory Road, Anlaby Road, Beverley Road and Cleveland Street in Hull, Hessle and Selby in June this year.
The premises raided included the Sensh lingerie store and It’s Organic health supplement shop next door on Princes Avenue, both of which Ademi owned.
Officers recovered a total of approximately £60,000 in cash, as well as an electronic counting machine, and Ademi was arrested.
The force is now seeking to recover assets believed to have been gained by Ademi through his criminality through the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Ten other individuals arrested in connection with the warrants remain under investigation.
Detective Inspector Matt Grantham, who led the investigation, said: “The outcome at court was the culmination of several months of intensive investigate work, as investigations like these can be lengthy and complex to ensure all lines of enquiry are fully explored and we secure our best chance of prosecution.
“I’m pleased we were able to build a strong case that resulted in Ademi taking responsibility for his actions and his involvement in this drugs gang.
“Organised crime groups cause significant harm to our communities, as they remain persistent in their attempt to supply and distribute drugs in our area. However, I’m confident that the action taken through this operation has helped disrupt this, making our streets safer.
“Our dedicated teams work relentlessly to disturb and dismantle these crime groups, with a particular focus on the ringleaders and those posing the greatest threat to our communities.
“We investigate all information that we receive, so please don’t worry if you don’t see immediate action.
“These investigations take time and often the information we get from the public is used to build the bigger picture of evidence, enabling us to have the best possible chance of a positive outcome through the action we take when the time is right.
“So please, keep talking to us if you have any information about crime in your area.”
