Hull College partners with Hidden Disabilities Charity
By Rick Lyon, Co-Editor
Hull College has forged a new partnership with the charity Hidden Disabilities.
Hidden Disabilities Charity is committed to raising awareness and providing a supportive community for individuals with conditions that are not visible, such as cystic fibrosis.
The college has now signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the charity in a demonstration of both organisations’ dedication to enhancing support for students and staff with hidden disabilities.
The agreement focuses on collaborative efforts in training, resource sharing and advocacy.
Lynette Leith, vice principal of curriculum and skills at the college, said: “At Hull College, we are committed to creating an environment where every student and staff member can thrive, regardless of the challenges they may face.
“Working with Hidden Disabilities Charity enables us to tap into specialised resources and expertise that will greatly benefit our college community.
“Signing this MoU is testament to our ongoing efforts to enhance inclusivity and ensure that our educational practices reflect the diverse needs of all individuals.”
Natalie Houfe, founder of Hidden Disabilities Charity, said: “We are thrilled to partner in this way with Hull College, a respected institution that shares our vision of a more inclusive society.
“This MoU is a pledge to work closely together to bring about greater awareness, insight and change.
“Our collaboration will help to ensure that hidden disabilities are recognised and accommodated within educational settings, paving the way for greater understanding and support.”
The new partnership will be celebrated at the Hidden Disabilities Charity’s annual ball, which will also see news announced about a new student-focused campaign.
