HEY! Volunteering to spread positivity on Random Acts of Kindness Day

‘FANTASTIC WORK’: HEY! Volunteers

By Rick Lyon, Co-Editor

Members of HEY! Volunteering will be spreading kindness and the “big blue wave of positivity” which the group embodies this weekend as it celebrates Random Acts of Kindness Day.

Those out and about in Hull city centre on Saturday, February 17 could be surprised with a random act of kindness by a blue coated volunteer to help brighten their day.

It could be something as simple as handing out bunches of flowers or free hot drink vouchers, as well as leaving motivational notes to find.

HEY! Volunteers have participated in smaller events in the past, but not on this scale and it is hoped their random acts of kindness will inspire others to do likewise.

Councillor Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure at Hull City Council and HEY! Volunteer, said: “HEY! Volunteering does fantastic work in promoting our city and the region and offering a helping hand to residents and visitors alike.

“Members are full of positivity and this is a wonderful initiative they are taking part in.

“People in Hull city centre on Saturday could have their day brightened by a random act of kindness and hopefully that positivity and generosity will spread to others.”

HEY! Volunteering will also be performing random acts of kindness in Beverley and Bridlington on the same day.
