Gainford Grove murder: Victim named as Richard Gray

Humberside Police have named a man who died after being assaulted on Gainford Grove, east Hull, as Richard Gray.

Officers were called to reports of an assault at around 4am yesterday. Mr Gray, 45, was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment, but died as a result of his injuries.

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.

Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) Doug Blackwood said: “Our thoughts are with Richard’s family at this difficult time, and I can assure them that we will do everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.

“We have arrested three people in connection with Richard’s murder and they all remain in police custody whilst we continue with lines of enquiry.

“There will remain an increased police presence in and around the Gainford Grove area as our investigations continue, and I would ask anyone who has any concerns or information that may assist with our enquiries to please come and speak with us.
