READY TO GO: The electric smart scooter available from Niu Hull

An electric vehicle company is offering a week’s free use of a scooter for any firms in the Hull area who provide, or would like to provide, a local delivery service.

NIU Hull is offering seven days’ free use of a NIU NQi GT Pro Cargo electric smart scooter to businesses looking for an eco-friendly, cost-effective way to deliver to their customers as part of its Pass The Cargo campaign.

The company has fitted a 132-litre Hippobox to the scooter to enable goods to be transported safely.

The scooter will be fully insured by NIU Hull, and designated drivers just need to have a valid CBT or full motorcycle licence.

The NQi GT Pro Cargo is the top of the range delivery scooter from NIU, one of the the world’s leading manufacturers of electric smart scooters.

It features a 3500-watt Bosch motor and twin Panasonic batteries, which produces a top speed of 45mph and gives a range of around 75 miles from a single charge.

Running costs are around 1p a mile, making them incredibly cost effective. The twin batteries are removable, which makes charging as easy as charging a mobile phone. No special charging infrastructure is required.

All NIU scooters are equipped with the latest smart technology. A range of information can be monitored via the NIU App, from battery consumption and driving behaviour, to an anti-theft system that warns when the scooter has been moved, and a GPS system that gives the real-time location of your scooter.

“We truly believe that there is no quicker or more cost-effective way to deliver locally,” a spokesman said.

With NIU scooters starting at just £1,996 + On The Road, electric vehicles have never been more affordable, the company said.
