Hull City have signed highly-rated teenager Malcolm Ebiowei on loan from Premier League outfit Crystal Palace until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old winger was snapped up on a five-year contract by the Eagles in June as he linked up with Patrick Viera’s squad following the expiry of his contract at Derby County.

Following spells at Chelsea, Arsenal and Rangers, Ebiowei joined the Rams in 2021, and was handed his professional debut by Wayne Rooney against the Tigers in February as he came on as a late substitute.

The teenager made 16 Championship appearances in 2021/22, with his only senior goal to date coming against Blackpool in April, as he netted after 73 minutes to set the Rams on their way to three points at Bloomfield Road.

Ebiowei, who also has international experience with England and the Netherlands at youth level, has made five appearances for Palace this season, with three of those outings coming in the Premier League.

Having already worked with City boss Liam Rosenior during his time at Derby, Ebiowei will now be looking to make an impact back in the Championship in his first loan spell away from Selhurst Park.

Rosenior said: “I am delighted that Malcolm has decided to join this football club and that we’ve beaten off a lot of competition for his signature.

“He was my main attacking target from the moment I came in and everyone has worked hard to make it happen; I can’t thank Acun and Tan enough for backing me.

“Malcolm is someone I’ve worked with before and has got undoubted ability and potential. He's an outstanding one-v-one player, is creative, quick and can get fans off their seats. He’s got a great work ethic and is a lovely young lad who will fit into the group perfectly.

“He’s had a minor injury and is working on his rehab at Crystal Palace but is someone we believe is worth the wait. He’ll be with us soon and I can’t wait to have him at the club and get working with him.”
