East Riding College holding Get into Teaching event

TEACHER TRAINING: East Riding College’s Beverley campus

By Rick Lyon

East Riding College is hosting a Get into Teaching event to support local people’s progression into the profession.

Held at the college’s Beverley campus from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, June 28, the event will be an opportunity for visitors to learn about the wide range of courses available to enable them to move into teaching.

The college, which is part of the TEC Partnership, has campuses based in Beverley, Hull and Bridlington, with the event covering courses offered at all locations.

As well as opportunities to talk on a one-to-one basis, visitors will also be able to participate in a Q&A with the college’s expert staff, and be able to learn about the bursaries available to train to teach.

Bursaries are available for training to teach in specialist subjects, some of which are up to £27,295.

“Whether you're just starting out, or are working in education and want to further your career, we have a number of options available, from introductory to Master’s level,” said Programme Leader Kelly Ackroyd.

“We will be able to talk to you about our teacher training and working in education courses, which include a Level 3 Award in Education and Training, Access to HE (Teacher Training route), CPD/Professional Development opportunities, Certificate in Education , PGCEs, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, our Master’s degree in Education, as well as apprenticeships in teaching.”
