VICTIM: Abdullah Balouchi

Murder squad detectives investigating the stabbing of 20-year-old Abdullah Balouchi are appealing for anyone with potentially crucial dashcam footage to come forward.

Mr Balouchi was seriously injured in Peel Street during “disorder” at about 8pm on Wednesday. He was taken to hospital after emergency services were called but later died. His death is being treated as a murder inquiry.

Mr Balouchi’s family have released a picture of him and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Humberside Police have so far made six arrests in connection with the incident.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Bob Clark, today said: “We are continuing to carry out a number of enquiries, with leads being followed up and continuous action taking place to fully establish the circumstances of the incident that night.

“As part of these enquiries we are now appealing for anyone with dashcam footage from driving on Beverley Road, specifically the stretch of road between Cave Street and Harley Street, between 7.45pm and 8.30pm on Wednesday, October 7, to get in touch.

“We continue to have a highly visible police presence in and around the Peel Street area over the weekend, and I would urge people to please come and speak to us if they have any concerns or they want to provide any information.

“We are committed and determined in holding whoever is responsible to account and we will do all we can to bring them to justice for such a senseless and tragic death.”

Anyone who was driving in this area at that time and has dashcam footage is asked to submit it via the online portal: https://mipp.police.uk/operation/16HQ20N62-PO1

Anyone with any other information that may assist police enquiries is asked to call 101, quoting log 500 of October 7.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
