Food giant Cranswick has raised £102,000 for the children’s charity KIDS with its annual golf day.

The event, organised by Cranswick Country Foods Preston, was held at the Forest Pines golf course in Scunthorpe. It brought together teams of Cranswick colleagues, suppliers and customers.

The day, which has been a tradition for several years, began with a spirited golf competition involving 42 teams showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.

The event continued into the evening, when 250 guests gathered for a meal and a hotly-contested auction and raffle.

It also included the presentation of awards to the winning golf team and a talk from KIDS shedding light on the work the charity does around the UK providing practical, life-changing and creative support for disabled children, young people and their families.

Cranswick has been a supporter of KIDS since 2007, raising a total of over £420,000.

Nick Mitchell, Cranswick Country Foods Preston Trading Director, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have raised a record amount at our recent charity golf day.

“This would not have been possible without the generous support of our suppliers and customers, for which we are incredibly grateful. I would never have dreamt we would be so successful when we started out all those years ago.”

Claire Crosbie, Senior Regional Fundraiser for KIDS Yorkshire, said: “Cranswick Country Foods Preston are KIDS Yorkshire’s key corporate supporter.

“It’s a unique relationship that has continued to grow over the past 15 years. To date, Cranswick Country Foods Preston has raised over £420,000 for some of Hull’s most vulnerable children and young people. This money is life-changing for so many families of disabled children whom we have supported over the years. This is quite simply phenomenal.

“From the bottom of our hearts, we cannot thank Cranswick enough.”
