CatZero, a pioneering pan-Humber charity, continues to transform lives through its unique approach to engagement and delivery.

With offices in Grimsby and Hull, and outreach in Scunthorpe and Goole, CatZero provides support to a diverse range of people, including children, families, veterans, and those who are long-term unemployed.

Their goal is simple yet powerful: help participants overcome barriers, regain confidence, and set them on a path towards employment, education, or personal growth.

What makes CatZero exceptional is its innovative approach. At the heart of their programme is a 72-foot Challenge yacht, which serves not only as a symbol, but as a powerful tool for transformation.

Participants are taken out on the water, where they develop essential life skills, boost their self-confidence, and push themselves to achieve beyond their expectations. This one-of-a-kind experience, combined with tailored support and guidance, has helped hundreds of individuals find new opportunities and take control of their futures.

CatZero’s Humber impact is undeniable. Since its launch in 2008, the charity has engaged with over 2,000 individuals and supported more than 180 families in the last seven years.

Their work is widely recognised, not only for its groundbreaking methods, but for the real and lasting impact it creates in people’s lives.

Many participants leave the programme with new skills, qualifications, and a renewed sense of purpose. The charity’s ethos is captured in the phrase, “Once CatZero, always CatZero”.

Adrian Tallon, who became chief executive earlier this year, emphasises CatZero’s unique approach: “Our highly experienced development teams work to make sure each participant has the chance to overcome personal challenges, maximising their opportunity to make the changes needed to fulfil their potential now and in the future.

“What we do is truly revolutionary and highly impactful. We’re the only organisation in the UK delivering this kind of support and engagement. Our work is nationally recognised, and we’re constantly evolving to provide the best possible support to the Humber region.”

Celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, CatZero continues to adapt to new challenges, relying on the support of local businesses and individuals to sustain its remarkable efforts.

Whether through grants, fundraising, or mentorship, community involvement is crucial to their mission. CatZero is testament to what can be achieved when people, organisations, and businesses work together for a common goal.
