Prolific burglar jailed for four years
A prolific burglar who stole from a home while his victim slept has been jailed for four years.
Robert Brindley, 45, entered a property in Sorel Drive, west Hull, on July 23, and stole items while his victim was asleep.
He also tried to break into another address on the same street.
After Brindley was caught he pleaded guilty to burglary and attempted burglary, and also admitted six further burglaries in Hull and the East Riding.
He was jailed for four years at Hull Crown Court.
In a statement after the hearing, Detective Sergeant Andy Bradley, of Humberside Police, said: “I am pleased with the sentence given out to Mr Brindley and I hope that the sentencing provides the victims with some degree of closure.
“It’s important to us that our communities feel safe and we are committed to investigating burglaries to take offenders off the streets.”
