Boxing Day ‘assault’: Man charged, victim ‘critical’

A man arrested in connection with an alleged assault in Hull city centre on Boxing Day has been charged with two offences.

The man injured in the incident in Paragon Street on December 26 remains in a critical condition in hospital, police said today.

Liam Lovick, 32, of Dodthorpe, Orchard Park, Hull, has been charged in connection with that incident, and in relation to an earlier alleged assault on a man in Whitefriargate, Old Town, on Saturday, December 10.

Mr Lovick has been charged with two counts of wounding / inflicting grievous bodily harm. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court today.
