Bob Dylan: Music legend books date at Hull’s Bonus Arena
By Simon Bristow
Bob Dylan is to play in Hull this year as part of a global tour.
Dylan, one of the world’s most influential musicians, will perform at the Bonus Arena on Thursday, October 27, with tickets going on general sale on Friday at 10am.
His Rough and Rowdy Ways World Tour will kick off in Europe with shows in Norway, Sweden, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK.
Dylan is widely regarded as one of the best songwriters of all time and has sold more than 125-million records, with iconic songs including Blowin’ In The Wind, Mr Tambourine Man, Like a Rolling Stone, and The Times They Are a-Changin’.
His numerous awards include the Presidential Medal of Freedom, ten Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award.
Dylan has also been inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
In 2008, the Pulitzer Prize Board awarded Dylan a special citation for “his profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power”.
The Hull gig will be a phone-free event along with all other dates on the tour. This means phones cannot be used inside the arena during the performance, but can be unlocked by going to a dedicated and signposted area.
Tickets for this all-seated gig will be available from the Bonus Arena website or via Ticketmaster.
