Bathurst Street murder victim named as Lee Rhoades, 45

A man who died following an attack on Bathurst Street, west Hull, on Sunday, March 12, has been named by his family as 45-year-old Lee Rhoades.

Police were called to reports of a concern for safety at about 1.20am and upon arrival at a property found a man had been assaulted.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but later died from his injuries.

Humberside Police said in a statement: “Lee’s family continue to be supported by specialist trained officers and have asked for their privacy at this difficult time.”

Lee Hailstone, 33, of Bathurst Street, Keeran Edge, 25, of Hull, Garry Harris, 24, of Victoria Avenue, west Hull, and Amie Kehoe, 23, of Blisland Close, Bransholme, were arrested and later charged with murder.

They all appeared at Hull Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 16, and were remanded into custody to appear at court at a later date.

Three other people arrested in connection with the incident have been released on police bail while inquiries continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Curtis, Senior Investigating Officer, said: “I know that incidents such as these cause concern and worry for residents in the local community, and I would like reiterate that we believe this was an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to people in the community.

“We would like to thank those who have already assisted with our investigation. If you have any further information that may assist with our enquiries, or if you have dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV footage of the area around the time of the incident, I would ask you to get in touch with us.

"I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or who may have been a witness to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 29 of 12 March.
