Nine arrested after fatal stabbing

Nine people have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 45-year-old man.

David Hunt was found with stab wounds outside a property in Arundel Close, east Hull, at around 10pm on Wednesday, June 19.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment, but died from his injuries soon after.

Two men, aged 47 and 44, and a 39-year-old woman were arrested at the scene. Another man, 35, was arrested the following day.

In the early hours of Friday, June 21, Humberside Police arrested two more men, aged 20 and 46, and a 33-year-old woman, in the West Yorkshire area.

Two more people, aged 16 and 20, were also later arrested.

Detective Chief Inspector Jayne Goodens, the senior investigating officer in the case, said: “I have had a dedicated team of detectives exploring a number of lines of enquiry, including house to house and reviewing and scouring CCTV footage around the area.

“As part of the enquiry we have arrested a further two people.

“Five people who have also been arrested in connection with the incident have since been released on conditional bail whilst our investigation continues.

“A further two people have since been unconditionally released.

“Two people aged 16 and 20 remain in police custody at this time.

“I can confirm we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the investigation at this time.

“I continue to appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, or anyone with information, dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage that may assist, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 563 of June 19.
