Flower power behind first wedding fayre at Paragon Arcade
By Rick Lyon, Co-Editor
A Victorian shopping arcade in Hull will be transformed into a full-blown wedding fayre when the owner of one of the businesses stages her biggest event yet.
Katrina Moore uprooted Artisan Flowers from her previous premises in 2022 because she saw the pulling power of Paragon Arcade and its potential for hosting workshops and other activities.
Since then Katrina has put on small events upstairs in her unit and larger gatherings in the arcade itself, along the way picking up a HullBID Award earlier this year for the most stylish or welcoming premises in Hull city centre.
Now Katrina has assembled an array of other services for a complete wedding fayre comprising bridalwear, hair and beauty, event styling, photography, honeymoon travel options and more.
The event, which will take place in Paragon Arcade from 3pm on Sunday, June 23, will also feature live music from a solo singer and an a capella quartet as well as a DJ session. Food and drink will be available from Grubb deli across the arcade from Artisan, and there will also be a bar.
Katrina said: “I wanted to showcase my bridal flowers and we decided to bring in other businesses as well because Paragon Arcade is great event space.
“We’ve had all sorts of other events down here with flower arranging in our shop and wreath making in the arcade itself. We also took part in the recent Street Food Super Club as part of Humber Business Week and we’re hoping to attract businesses again soon when we launch our team building workshops.
“The wedding fayre is an ambitious project but the feedback so far has been really good. All the businesses we have invited have been eager to do it and we haven’t got any duplication so hopefully we will all do well from it.”
